Dr. Dave Baker (Founder and CEO)
Dave Baker has a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Theology, a Master’s Degree in Education and a Doctor’s Degree in Divinity. He has been in the ministry since 1988 and pastors a church that he started in 1993. He and his wife Laura have been married since 1990 and have nine children. "As a child growing up, we were always in church and I always had a pastor. After I moved out of the house, and before I went into the military, I did not have a spiritual guide. It was during that time that I struggled the most with my life. When I went into the military, there were no churches available to attend while we were in training, and especially when I was stationed overseas. The chaplain services provided by the military were a great help to me. After I made the decision to be a minister, I almost went back into the military as a chaplain to be a help to the troops, because I remember what a blessing a chaplain was to me at a needy time.
Today I see so many people in the workplace that do not have the care of a church or pastor either. There are many situations where a chaplain could be a help to them. For almost 20 years, I have been helping people in hospitals, jails, courtrooms, and their homes with their problems in their families, life and work. I have been helping people with their marriages, children, finances, addictions and everything in between. We hope that “Your ChaplainsTM” can be a help and encouragement to you, your company and your family".
Gary Holman (Director of Operations)
I found that during my 30 plus years working and managing in “Corporate America” that my employees were the most important asset to my companies. Yet, none of the businesses with which I was associated had a provision to care for the employee in their time of need. Every week someone needed counseling, guidance or comforting with a personal problem that was affecting their performance in the workplace. Many of these problems were costing the companies thousands of dollars in lost productivity.
Most recently, while working with the functioning addicts in our community, I realized that there is still nothing in place in most businesses to help employees deal with the trials of life.
Seni Hazzan (Investor and Board Member)
Seni (SHEN-ee) is a Nigerian immigrant who came to the U.S. nearly penniless in search of the American Dream. Within five years he earned an MBA degree from Yale University, a CPA license and rose to a managerial position with the Transaction Advisory Services Group of a global professional services firm. He started his investment banking career with Goldman Sachs on Wall Street. Mr. Hazzan is also a fellow of the Salzburg Seminar (a global leadership organization based in Salzburg Austria, which boasts of membership of distinguished and outstanding individuals, professionals, academicians, bureaucrats, and heads of nations). Mr Hazzan has spoken and written on many topics including: Personal Financial Management, Surviving In the Corporate America Jungle, Strategies for Growing Your Business God’s Way, Real Estate Investing, Starting Your Business, among others. Mr. Hazzan is an entrepreneur with a rare gift of teaching, guiding people to achieve their lives' goals from wherever they are. Mr. Hazzan worked on Wall Street in the mergers and acquisitions area with global organizations including Goldman Sachs, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Arthur Andersen. After reaching the pinnacle of his career that included advising CEOs and presidents of many Fortune 500 companies, Seni chose to leave the prestige and perceived security of Wall Street to rebuild at ground zero to go into business for himself. He has appeared as special guest on radio and TV talk shows and featured in newspapers and magazines write-ups including the New York Beacon, Charisma Magazine, The Network Journal, Rolling-Out Weekly and New Vision in Business Magazine. He was a Guest Speaker at the National Association of Asian American Professionals’ New York Chapter Speaker Series 2000. Through LifePal Business Network’s Seminars, a subsidiary of JIL (Jesus Is Lord), Mr. Hazzan has spoken to thousands of businessmen and entrepreneurs across North America & the Caribbean. He has addressed thousands of people at Saint Catherine in Jamaica W.I. on "Life Is A Business." In conjunction with Salem Media Corporation of New York & Jamaica Business Resource Center in New York, Mr. Hazzan addressed entrepreneurs during a business seminar in May 2002. He was a Guest Speaker at the Action Seminars Group Speaker Series in New York City, Keynote Speaker at the International Dream Team Christian Association official launching, and a Panelist at a Entrepreneurial Forum in New York City. He was selected the New York State Govt and Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development among other professionals & institutions to help rebuild the businesses affected by the September 11 disaster in lower Manhattan, New York City. He won the Highest Award for Achievement given by the Dale Carnegie Course. He was awarded his permanent residency in the United States as an Alien with Extraordinary Ability. While at Yale, he was awarded Letter of Commendation for Outstanding Academic Performance. He was awarded the Golden Eagle Leadership Award as the Entrepreneur of the Year 2003 by the International Dream Team. In the month of June 2003 he was selected as one of 40 Dynamic Achievers of 2003.
OUR CHAPLAINS
At “Your ChaplainsTM” we do not try to train people to be professional chaplains or counselors. So many people have professional “credentials” or a great looking resume, but do not help people. We look for ministers that love people and can help them with their problems. If a person cannot do that, it doesn’t matter how many degrees they have on their wall, or what their counseling couch looks like, it doesn’t help anyone. Many ministers have turned off the average worker by showing an “air” of religiosity, by not being able to be real. The employees want to find someone who can listen, care and help them with their life.
Other chaplain agencies do not use someone as a chaplain if they are a minister in a church. They do not want to appear to be promoting any church. We, at Your Chaplains, understand that, but also realize that real pastors are some of the best qualified to help people with their life and problems. Our chaplains will never push or promote their church. That is not the purpose of this ministry, but we want to find the best qualified ministers to serve as our chaplains. If for any reason you are not happy with your chaplain, we will send another one from our company right away.
We do extensive criminal and financial background checks on counselors before they become chaplains. We also hire people that have a history of helping people as a volunteer status, so we know we are hiring people who have a heart for helping others, and are not just interested in receiving a paycheck.
